That's when we learn that one can only awaken the current king by using a spell passed down by the first Wizard King. Now, it's up to Captain Yami and Asta's team to rescue the rest of their comrades before it's too late.

The elf was once a priest and his actions were the result of witnessing a nightmarish vision from beyond the gates to the underworld. The elves are responsible for sending assassins to kill both Asta and Yuno, which leaves them wondering if they will attack again or if they plan to fulfill their promise of world peace.

A new chapter of Asta's lifetime adventure begins, but this time he is not alone! Noelle Silva and Yami Sukehiro are here to help. The girls are introduced as characters of their own right and the story includes various new girls. There is no doubt that they will bring a new energy to the story.

The possessing elf, Rufel, explains Luck's body is now his and Vanessa realizes Luck is possessed. Rufel almost murders Magna but is stopped by Vanessa's cat Rouge, the Red String of Fate. Magna tries to attack Rufel but is also stopped by Rouge as she protects all Black Bulls, including Luck. Magna manages to trick Rufel with his knowledge of Luck's physical abilities and blows him up. Magna demands Rufel return Luck but Rufel summons a lightning storm, increasing his powers, and Magna only survives due to Rouge. Rufel realizes that using Rouge costs vast amounts of magic and forces her to save Magna over and over again until Vanessa almost passes out. Rufel claims Luck's soul is dead but Magna spots that he is crying and realizes Luck must be able to hear them, so they desperately try to force Luck to wake up.

Asta, Magna, Luck, and Vanessa all attempt to attack Rufel but only harm Luck and are then injured by the counterattack. Vanessa realizes that her hairpin is preventing Ruel's soul from possessing Luck, so Ruel kills Rouge by throwing a rock at her head when she uses the last of her magic in order to alter fate, resulting in Asta appearing at the very last moment.

The Clover Kingdom is in danger as they're under attack by their own Magic Knights that were possessed by elves. Asta is able to discover a way to remove the magic and defeat the elf on its own but notices how much pain he's in because of the reincarnation spell used on him. Upon defeating him, the Clover Kingdom is finally able to become solid again while a powerful elf named Rades is summoned to attack it.

In the forest, William and Acier find the Flower of Eternal Youth, when the Clover Kingdom's Golden Dawn squad captain Drowa attacks them. William deflects his attack with his sword and tells Acier to run. The elf possessing Licht uses a spell that covers half of the kingdom in darkness, possessing all of the magic knights who are there as well as multiple beasts and insects. William is about to be stabbed by Drowa when Yuno arrives and repels Drowa's attack, allowing William to attack back. At the same time Asta intercepts an attack by Mimosa Vermillion in order to protect Secre Swallowtail. When Asta attempts to strike her, Finral Roulacase shields them both but is unable to strike Asta himself due to an unknown force. Lufulu kicks away Fana, who arrives on her lion Suoh, while Asta and Yuno continue moving forward through the possessed magic knights while also fighting off attacks by their friends and loved ones.

Asta also notes that he wasn't possessed by the elf and wonders how many other knights were only pretending to fight for their own reasons. Finral breaks into a nearby tower and finds a secret meeting of elves. The human guards are shown to have been frightened into serving the elves who have them under threat of exposing their families to the reincarnation spell. A human guard is revealed to have given his eye in exchange for immunity from the effects of the reincarnation spell. The elves show off all the weapons they have taken from the Clover Kingdom humans, and while they revel in their victory they suddenly find themselves surrounded by Royal Knights.

Rufel's attacks start off too fast for even Vanessa, Magna and Luck to see and forces them all on the defensive. Rufel takes control of Luck and Magna becomes shocked that Lucks abilities are better than he remembered. Rufel creates an instant palace around himself and declares Vanessa is a woman of the Heart Kingdom while Luck's body is now his. Vanessa realizes he has been possessed and tries to attack Rufel but he catches her before she can reach him, telling her she is powerful but weak due to her not having entered adulthood yet. Rufel uses a spell that paralyzes those without hearing Loss within a range of him and begins to explain the Four Stars have Red Strings of Fate attached to them, similar to Rouge but in a different way, which allows their souls to be tethered together. He explains her Red String is linked to Luc

Asta learns his anti-magic was created from the five anti-magic devil-slaying swords that are now around his body, continuing to protect him. Meanwhile Magna Spatiala tries to attack Luck with a spell but Rouge protects Luck by altering fate and vanishes when Asta appears. Having survived their last battle Asta and Mariella seem to have gotten closer while Nero explains they were only able to survive because she changed her name back to Noelle. Yami tells them they must go see the Queen at once while Finral and Henry Spatiala use a spell to teleport them back to the Heart Kingdom's capital. Once there they meet up with Langris and Fuegoleon Vermillion as well as Julius Novachrono who asks them whether they want revenge or peace after which they are taken before the Queen herself.

Charmy's possessed body makes its way back to the group, letting them know that she is well and wants the Black Bulls to surrender. Gauche is currently fighting with Rill and he has been infected by a spell that covers him in purple spots, making him sneeze while fighting. Secre shows up and uses her Magic to unmask the spell, causing it to disappear. She explains that she learned to break spells and wants to help her friends. She retrieves two of the Elves' captives and informs them about what is happening. Charmy tries to convince Asta to surrender but he refuses so she attacks him with a giant needle, trying to skewer his head. Asta blocks it with one of his swords and Yami tries cutting through it but finds that the thread is as tough as steel, giving Asta an idea

As Asta uses his Black Meteorite Sword to purge the elves of their Dark Magic, Lucky manages to finally face and break free of his mother's spell. As they return to their base, they find it still in pieces from Henry Legolant's attack. Noting Gauche was possessed by a elf but didn't harm anyone, Grey agrees Asta's new sword may help deal with the elves more effectively

Lucky Ol' Sun, who has dedicated his life to trying to make people happy, has come to a point in his life where he realizes that he's not succeeding and might not have anything left that he can do.
